PRESENTATION
 

Created on January 17th2012, the NGO UFPACI is a non-political, impartial, non-profit-making organization, which mission is to find a common ground between opposite groups, to promote dialogue and non-violence culture and to reinforce Peace. Therefore UFPACI give all the communities assistance encouraging intercultural dialogue and cooperation between communities.
The fundamental approach of the NGO is the use of dialogue to prevent and settle conflicts.

Main goals and Objectives

The main objectiveis to promote the culture of peace and non-violence, democracy, good governance, the respect of human rights, equality of genders, humanitarian action and the environment protection.

UFPACI contributes to the emergence of a new citizen, through intercultural dialogue training, interfaith dialogue training, and conflict management through dialogue.

Respect the principle of conflicts transformation

To respect the principle of conflicts transformation, UFPACI organizesinter-ethnic cultural and sportive activities between groups in conflict, communities and the parties. UFPACI is elaborating a network of collaboration with others operators of peace building, NGOsand community groups, in order to establish a platformof cultural diplomacy to encourage compromises and a constructive communication strategyall through the solving process.

Where and with who?


UFPACI operates through the whole national territoryand plans to spread its activities beyond the borders of Côte d'Ivoire. UFPACI is based in Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire.

UFPACI works together with other NGOs, the civilian society and government institutions.

Main activities in the area of conflicts transformation

UFPACI main activities are:

  • Teaching the youths the universal values that favour peace ;
  • Raising the awareness of the causes and consequences of conflicts ;
  • Encouragingthe youths to appropriate the culture of peace, of non-violence and of dialogue ;
  • Training peace workers ;
  •  Organizingcultural and sportive activities in cities and villages.

The Urgent Need
In Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and across Africa and the planet, physically challenged youth and adults are
generally stigmatized, shunned, abused, dehumanized, and excluded from family, school, business, and
community life. The remedy and preventive is to meet, hear, understand, humanize, respect, and dignify one
another. No organization has yet enacted such "re-socialisation" in Cote d'Ivoire.
